Indoor style: Vintage Romance

Indoor style: Vintage Romance

Who doesn't love a bit of romance? By styling your home with a touch of vintage romance, you’ll feel relaxed every day, if you are working from home, chilling out after a day in the office or busy keeping on top of the chores, add a touch of sass as well and you’ll feel like there is no place like home. Have a read through these four tips for a vintage romantic indoor style.

1. It’s all about the colours to create a Vintage Romance feel

This indoor style is largely about the colour scheme. You can be bold and sassy with your choices so dare to go big on colours. Mix dark blues with grey and deep reds work very well.  You can include sofa throws, coloured cupboard doors and large lampshade to make sure you’ve got those bold colours included.

2. Add a touch of leather for the Vintage Romance style

For extra comfort, style and for that touch of sass, add a leather sofa or armchair which can work brilliantly with this kind of indoor style. Not only can a nice leather sofa be so comfortable and easy to clean but it also gives the look of a 1950’s home which is bold, colourful and comfy all rolled into one. Add a velvet throw to the back the sofa so you can curl up in the evenings

A touch of leather 3. Get the Vintage Romance feel and shop vintage

There are some superb vintage items available which as are good as new to add to your new indoor style. From quality tables and chairs to with velvet seat cushions to lamp stands and even footstools. If you’d prefer to go new, this style is on trend right now so you will find plenty available to choose from. Let your creative side go wild. Don’t forget some curtains, a mustard yellow colour will fit the style well.

4. Make your own macramé for the Vintage Romance style

Macramé plant hangers are surprisingly easy to make and the cord used to create the perfect pot hanger can be in any colour or a mix, so you can create a hanger suited to your plant pots and indoor style. If you’d rather buy one readymade, there are plenty available. Hang your trailing plants up for a little boho sass and a must for this style is a large pot with a Monstera plant growing. The large green leaves are a great addition to any room but very much so for this style. Perfect for the corner of the room and very popular.
